
Dhaka, Bangladesh — July 30, 2026 — The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) held a Strategic Planning Committee meeting on July 30, 2026, to establish an action-oriented framework for institutional quality enhancement. The session convened at 11:00 AM in the Shahid Sujan Mahmud Building, bringing together senior university officials to align operational strategies with BUBT’s long-term academic vision.
Chaired by Prof. Dr. K Ahmed Alam, Director of IQAC-BUBT, the meeting was convened pursuant to Office Order No. BUBT-Reg-1213-07-26. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib (Dean, BUBT Research Graduate School), Dr. Md. Harun-or-Rashid (Registrar), Dr. Md. Asadur Rahman (Additional Director, IQAC), and Bashar Ahmed (Manager, IQAC and Member Secretary).
Key Strategic Focus Areas & Outcomes:
- SWOT and Gap Analysis: The committee agreed to conduct a thorough SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and stakeholder analysis to identify operational gaps and improve service delivery.
- Capacity Building & Stakeholder Engagement: Deliberations underscored the importance of involving both academic and administrative personnel while prioritizing continuous professional development for IQAC staff.
- Central Capacity Workshops: To guide university-wide adoption, two central workshops will be organized under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor to assist individual departments in preparing their strategic plans.
- Unified Strategic Plan: IQAC will review, consolidate, and synthesize all departmental outputs into a comprehensive institutional Strategic Plan.
Prof. Dr. K Ahmed Alam emphasized that setting realistic, measurable objectives and SMART outcomes is crucial for sustaining high standards of quality assurance across all university programs.
