IQAC, BUBT Successfully Holds Day-long Training Workshop on Professional Development

Dhaka, September 09, 2026 – The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) successfully organized a day-long “Training Workshop on Professional Development” on Wednesday, 09 September 2026 at the International Conference Hall, Shahid Sujan Mahmud Building, BUBT.

Deans, Chairmen, faculty members, officials and staff of BUBT participated in the workshop. The workshop aimed at strengthening professional competencies, enhancing academic practices, promoting Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and assessment, encouraging innovative teaching-learning methods, and fostering research integrity.

The workshop began at 09:00 AM with registration and was formally inaugurated at 09:15 AM. Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, BUBT graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the inaugural speech. He emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and quality assurance for ensuring academic excellence.

A key highlight of the workshop was “From Learning to Sharing: Dissemination of APFDP-2026 Training Outcomes.” Five faculty members who participated in the Asia Pacific Faculty Development Program (APFDP)-2026 shared their learnings:

  • Dr. Md. Rajibul Islam, Associate Professor & Chairman, Dept. of DSE
  • Dr. Md. Aslam Uddin, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing
  • Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Associate Professor, Dept. of English
  • Dr. Md. Asadur Rahman, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE

The technical sessions were conducted as per schedule:

Session 1: Aligning Assessment with Outcomes: Question Paper Construction through CO-PLO Mapping was conducted by Prof. Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering.

Session 2: CO-PO Mapping from the Assessments Using Suitable Software was facilitated by AP Mijanur Rahman, Dept. of CSE.

Session 3: Innovate with Integrity: Promoting Research Ethics, Responsible Publication, and Retraction Awareness was delivered by Dr. Md. Aminur Rahaman, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Session 4: Engage, Interact, Inspire: Interactive Teaching for Meaningful Student Engagement was conducted by Prof. Dr. K Ahmed Alam, Director, IQAC.

The participants expressed that the workshop was highly informative and will contribute significantly to improving teaching quality, assessment methods, and research practices at BUBT.
