Research Proposal Presentation at BUBT-IQAC: Advancing Alzheimer’s Disease Detection through Deep Learning

Dhaka, Bangladesh – February 15, 2024 – The IQAC-BUBT arranged a significant milestone in the pursuit of cutting-edge research with a Research Proposal Presentation.

The presentation, slated for 11 A.M. on Thursday (February 15, 2024), it took place in Meeting Room 220, Building 02 of the university. Esteemed attendees include The Honorable Vice Chancellor of BUBT Prof. Dr. Fayyaz Khan, along with the Director of IQAC, Prof Santi Narayan Ghosh and Additional Director of the IQAC Mr. Zaved Mannan. Additionally, the Chairman  faculty members of the EEE department attended.

The focal point of this presentation was a pioneering research project titled “Deep Learning-Based Correlation and Feature Extraction Technique to Identify Risk Genes and Early Prediction of Alzheimer’s Disease.” Spearheaded by Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Assistant Professor in the Department of EEE at BUBT, and co-researched by Md. Shahadat Jaman, a current student in the same department, aims to revolutionize the early detection and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease using advanced deep learning techniques.

Dr. Arefin, with his expertise in the field of electrical and electronic engineering, brings invaluable insights to the project. His collaboration with Mr. Jaman, a promising young talent, highlights the commitment of BUBT towards nurturing talent and fostering groundbreaking research endeavors.

The proposed research is poised to make significant strides in the understanding and detection of Alzheimer’s disease, a condition with far-reaching implications for global healthcare. By leveraging the power of deep learning algorithms, the team aims to identify risk genes associated with the disease and develop early prediction models, potentially leading to enhanced diagnostic tools and interventions.

This Research Proposal Presentation marks the beginning of an exciting journey towards combating Alzheimer’s disease through interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. IQAC-BUBT remains committed to driving impactful research that addresses pressing societal challenges and contributes to the advancement of knowledge.
