A comprehensive preparatory meeting for the upcoming External Quality Assessment (EQA) Team Visit was held on Thursday, March 20, 2024, at 11:30 AM at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). The meeting took place in Room 220 of the Martyred Sujan Mahmud Building and brought together key academic and administrative leaders to strategize for the visit scheduled by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC).
The meeting was presided over by Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), BUBT. In his welcome address, Prof. Ghosh expressed sincere appreciation to all attendees for their active participation and shared an update on the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering’s (EEE) ongoing accreditation process with the BAC.
Prof. Ghosh informed everyone that the EEE Department has officially applied for accreditation, and the BAC has set a date for the EQA audit. In light of this, the meeting was convened to discuss and delegate essential preparations, ensuring a smooth and successful visit by the EQA team.
The meeting featured a detailed presentation of the Action Plan by Mr. Zaved Mannan, Additional Director, IQAC-BUBT. The plan outlined specific tasks and timelines to be followed in preparation for the audit. Key responsibilities were assigned to relevant personnel based on discussions and valuable input from faculty leaders.
Notable attendees included Prof. Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Chairman and Head PSAC of the Department of EEE; Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Professor and Member PSAC of the same department; and Mr. Zaved Mannan, Additional Director of IQAC. Also present were Md. Delowar Hossain, Senior Medical Officer; Mr. Md. Zahidul Islam, Joint Registrar; Md. Emarul Haq Joarder and Mr. Hasan Munzur Murshed, Joint Controllers of Examinations; A.B.M. Mesbahul Hasan, Deputy Director of Career Guidance and Counseling; Md. Abdul Hakim Shah, Deputy Librarian; Sayada Sultana, Admission Officer; and Easeen Patwary, Senior IT Officer. From the Department of EEE, Md. Sharif and Md. Al Amin, Demonstrators, participated alongside Abu Daud Md. Tariqul Aziz, Md. Asaduzzaman, Mr. Mehedi Hasan, and Mr. Mahathir Mohammad Anase, all serving as Lab Assistants. Additionally, Md. Saidur Rahman, Manager of Cafeteria (Building-4), and Md. Torikul Islam, Manager of Cafeteria (Building-3), were present to offer logistical support insights.
Recommendations from Dr. Shamsul Arefin, Chairman of the EEE Department, and strategic guidance from Prof. Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, played a vital role in finalizing the roadmap for the EQA visit.
BUBT continues to uphold its commitment to quality assurance in higher education and looks forward to a successful evaluation by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council.
