The Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) proudly hosted an External Quality Assurance (EQA) team of Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) from April 20 to 22, 2025, as part of the accreditation process for its Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).
The EQA visit, facilitated under the auspices of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), was aimed at assessing and verifying the academic quality and institutional effectiveness of the EEE department’s program. The review team engaged in comprehensive discussions with all key stakeholders, including university leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and employers.
The BAC EQA team was welcomed jointly by BUBT’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC-BUBT) and the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC) of the EEE department, led by Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director of IQAC, Mr. Zaved Mannan, Additional Director of IQAC, and Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Associate Professor and Chairman of EEE and head of PSAC. Throughout the three-day schedule, the EQA team conducted a wide range of activities including class observation, document reviews, and meeting with faculty members, non-academic staff, administrative officers, Vice Chancellor, Registrar and other high officials.
The visit also included tours of laboratories, EEE department, Exam Controller, and campus facilities such as the library, gymnasium, medical center, Cafeteria,and student co-curricular facilities. Special sessions were held with students, alumni, employers, and university administration to gather holistic feedback on the program’s quality and outcomes.
The site visit concluded with an Exit Meeting on April 22, where preliminary impressions and observations were shared with the university administration. Vice Chancellor and QAC Chairman, Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Shawkat Ali, Registrar, Dr. Harun-Or-Rashid, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmed, IQAC Director, Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Additional Director of IQAC, Mr. Zaved Mannan, PSAC members and EQA team members were present in the exit meeting.
This important step in the quality assurance process marks a milestone in BUBT’s continuous journey toward academic excellence and international accreditation standards.
